This Mengascini 72 Bass Accordion is a mid size model built in the Italian town of Castelfidardo, most likely during the 1990’s or early 2000’s, and features 72 bass buttons, 34 treble keys and a very wide four voice musette tuning, making it ideal for the Scottish and French style of playing. A pre-owned Excelsior 120 Bass Accordion. This classic accordion dates from the 1960’s and was built in the Italian town of Castlefidardo by the well respected Excelsior factory, and features 120 bass buttons, 41 treble keys, although it is a slightly compact model, so it a little bit smaller than some 120 bass models. This accordion is tuned to a three voice tremolo setup, which is ideal for most styles of playing, and has the added advantage of making the instrument a fair bit lighter in terms of weight when compared to the more common four voice setup. This accordion is in good overall condition for its age, and is finished in an attractive red pearl casework. This accordion was also fitted with a full internal midi system a few years back.

This full size accordion features 120 bass buttons, 41 treble keys and a four voice musette tuning, making it ideal for the French and Scottish styles of playing. This particular accordion most likely dates from the late 1960’s or early 1970’s, and has recently undergone a full internal restoration, including having had all the reeds replaced with brand new units from https://www.vociarmoniche.it/ fitted into the original reed blocks (please see pictures attached to this listing), who produce reeds for many of the world’s top accordion factories. Thanks to this, the instrument plays really indeed with a full, rich modern tone that belies its age.
