This mid size professional quality accordion was built in the Italian town of Castelfidardo by the highly regarded Borsini factory, and features the full range of 120 bass buttons, but in a lighter weight and more compact 37 treble key casework, so is very similar in dimensions to most 96 bass accordions. The instrument is tuned to a four voice musette setup, making it ideal for the French and Scottish styles of playing. This accordion also boasts a double cassotto chamber, which along with it’s excellent quality reeds, give it a warm and mellow tone on the eight foot clarinet and sixteen foot bassoon couplers, which is perfect for jazz and classical. This accordion most likely dates from the late 1990’s or early 2000’s, and has been well looked after by it’s previous owner, being presented for sale in good all round general condition for it’s age. This excellent quality accordion is a professional standard instrument and was built in Italy by the highly regarded Mengascini factory. The accordion features 41 treble keys, and most interestingly, has 132 bass buttons rather than the more common 120 usually found on this size of accordion. This is due to the usually diagonal rows being “squared off”, thus allowing for a few extra buttons at each end of the accordion. This stunning Exclusive (Mengascini) 132 Bass Double Bassoon Accordion features outstanding quality hand made reeds which are all pinned on cork, as well as a very rare “double bassoon” setup in cassotto, meaning that it has twin sixteen foot bassoon reeds, which give an incredible rich, warm and mellow tone. the instrument is straight tuned with a very narrow tremolo and no cassotto on the eight foot reeds. This would be in ideal accordion for the serious player, and would especially lend itself to the jazz style of playing. This instrument has only had one owner, and has been very well looked after indeed.
