Tillingbourne Accordion Orchestra
TAO had a successful sunny day at Canbury Bandstand on August 13th.
There was a very appreciative audience and many familiar faces.

Bellows Across Borders
London Accordion Orchestra welcomes the world famous
Accordion State Youth Orchestra, Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany)
to give a joint concert at Diorama Arts Centre at 4:30pm on 3rd September 2017.
We are delighted to be able to bring one of the best accordion orchestras
in the world to London for this unmissable concert. The Accordion State Youth Orchestra has performed on all 5 continents
ncluding concerts in USA, Canada, Russia, China, Brazil, South Africa, Namibia,
Costa Rica, New Zealand, Fiji and India.
Touring with the orchestra are renowned American Baritone Douglas Yates
and virtuoso Bandoneonist Antje Steen. We are honoured to be able to
present their first concert in the UK at the futuristic Diorama Arts Centre in
Central London (near Warren Street Station).
Kennet Accordion Orchestra

Amaryllis Accordion Duo
On September 15th 2017 our next club night we look forward to welcoming
Tracey Middleton and David Garwood.
They been playing together for about 22 years, and often appear at prestigious festivals
such as Cheltenham Folk Festival and Stratford upon Avon Arts Festival.
We have also seen them here before. Their diverse repertoire covers everything from
18th century dance music to Walt Disney. This should be a night not to be missed.
Music Classes
The English Folk Society offers this autumn at Cecil Sharp House a term of tuition in folk music.
There is an Accordion class for beginners at 10am; and a class for improvers at noon.
Each class is limited to nine members, so early bookings are recommended.
Cecil Sharp House is a short walk from Camden Town, with a direct tube link from Waterloo.
The centre also offers classes in melodeon, whistle, fiddle, banjo, guitar and singing.
(Saturdays, dates 9th 23rd 30th September. 14th 21st October. 4th 18th November. 2nd 16th December ).

Our good friends at the Uxbridge Accordion Band are presenting their latest concert, titled “Latin Fever” on the evening of Wednesday the 26th of April 2017 between 8.00pm and 10.030pm. at The Tower Arms, 2 Thorney Lane South, Richings Park, Iver, SL0 9AE. Next month on St Patricks Night we look forward to welcoming Gary Blair. Gary is well known here and we hope you will bring your family and friends along for an evening of great entertainment. Gary has started a fund to help a young player that he met whilst in the Ukraine. His name is Roman Somerzyak. Roman is blind and does not have an accordion. Gary says this young man is very talented and any donations would be greatly appreciated.

An Evening with Santiago Quartet
Oakleaf have proudly partnered with Santiago Quartetand will host a concert on Saturday, 25th February 2017, from 7:00pm at St Catherine’s School Auditorium, Bramley. The concert will feature bandoneonist Julian Rowlands
Tickets are only £10 each There will also be a cash bar and raffle draw on the night.

Cambridge Accordion Orchestra Day
A reminder that Cambridge Accordion Club have the 2017 Accordion Orchestra Day on March 5th. Once again itwill be led by Nigel Pasby and I’m sure it will be another enjoyable and fun-filled day. As previously, the music will be arranged for players of all abilities and is open to any accordionists who would like to experience a brieftaste of what it’s like to play in an accordion orchestra. We would bepleased to see any of your members who feel able to join us. The cost of the day will be £15 to include tea and coffee in the breaks.
