An excellent quality Vignoni Compact SE Five Voice 120 Bass Accordion. This high end professional standard model was hand crafted by the highly regarded Vignoni factory in the Italian town of Castlefidardo. The accordion features the full range of 120 bass buttons and 41 treble keys, and is also tuned to a five voice setup, meaning that it has both the double octave (ideal for the classical, jazz and Latin American styles of playing) and musette (perfect for French, Scottish and Irish music) tunings, which gives it a huge amount of versatility. The accordion also boasts a double cassotto chamber on both the eight foot clarinet and sixteen foot bassoon reeds, which helps to produce a rich, warm and mellow tone, which is preferred by many jazz and classical players. This accordion was originally custom built for its first owner, and is a special “compact” model, which is significantly smaller than most five voice accordions, which can be very large and heavy indeed. The instrument also has many extra features, including a dedicated musette chin switch, meaning that this reed can be activated with any other setup at will. The accordion has been played professionally, so has a couple of minor scuffs on the casework, but is generally in excellent condition throughout.
