A pre-owned Hohner Marchesa 120 Bass Compact Accordion. This German built accordion most likely dates from the 1960’s, and features the full range of 120 bass and 41 treble keys, but in an extremely compact and lightweight casework, when compared to most other full size accordions. This is achieved by making the treble keys narrower, as well as moving the bass buttons closer together, which saves a lot of room. Also, the accordion only has a two voice tuning, rather than a more common three or four voice setup, so saves a fair bit of weight and size there as well. The instrument is tuned to a two voice double octave layout, making it ideal for the classical, jazz, and latin American styles of playing to name but a few. Finished in a red casework with a gold treble grill, and presented for sale in good all round general condition for its age.
