A pre-owned Scandalli 120 Bass Compact Accordion. This accordion most likely dates from the mid 1970’s, and was built in the Italian town of Castelfidardo by the well respected Scandalli factory, and features the full range of 120 bass and 41 treble keys, but in an extremely compact and lightweight casework, when compared to most other full size accordions. This is achieved by making the treble keys narrower, as well as moving the bass buttons closer together, which saves a lot of room. Also, the accordion only has a two voice tuning, rather than a more common three or four voice setup, so saves a fair bit of weight and size there as well. The instrument is tuned to a two voice double octave layout, making it ideal for the classical, jazz, and latin American styles of playing. The instrument is in good general condition for its age, and is finished in an attractive pearl red casework.
